Synopsis:
My Scientology movie is a British documentary film taking on the massively controversial issue of scientology and tries to portray the events involving a senior church official. The film has been condemned by the churches and the filmmakers and the actors were kept under surveillance for the same. The director takes a different approach and hires some actors to play the pivotal characters who were the eye witnesses of the incident which involved one of the most senior church official indulged in a violent behaviour. The director, Theroux has said several times in interviews that it took him quite a lot of time to finally be able to make the film in its final form. They had been trying to get the film made since the last decade, but the churches never permitted them. At one point, the producer Simon also pushed the filmmaker to take the plot and make a fiction film out of it but Theroux refused. The topic of Scientology performed in the churches is already quite a controversial subject to handle and the filmmakers had a lot of trouble to be done with it.
