Synopsis:
Manto is an Indian biographical drama based on the famous Indo-Pakistani Urdu author, Saadat Hasan Manto. The story of the movie is revolved around 4 crucial years of the author and writer, during which he inhabited altogether different environments of 2 faltering cities of 2 countries, India & Pakistan, and tried to make sense of the differences through his writings. In his journey, he is supported by Shyam Chadda, his close friend, a confidant, and an inspiration for many of his works along with Safia, his wife. The movie explores how an admired writer of the Bombay film industry turns into a rejected writer in a city of Pakistan.
