Synopsis:
Ghost in the Shell is an upcoming American science fiction live action rendition of a great Japanese manga and animation movie which goes by the same name. The film has at its centre, a futuristic story about the world that is a little bit away in the future from now and where humanity is on the brink of extinction. And that is because of the evil forces active in the world, manipulating the human being’s very sense of existence. The central story is based around a female cyborg that, along with her team, catches criminals and hackers. But soon, she starts having doubts about her very own state of life as she comes across a villain who shakes her idea of individuality and free will. The film then becomes the journey of a cyborg’s self discovery and looking out for her place in a world that is on the edge of destruction. The film toys with the ideas of alienation in the cyberpunk era, humanity and crime. The film stars Scarlett Johansson playing the leading character as the cyborg, Major.
