Synopsis:

Cezanne and I is a French language biographical drama film portraying the life of two French pop culture icons and their friendship in the 19th century which became a talk of the town. The two pals meet after a number of years when Cezanne asks Zola about his latest novel which he based on a failed painter. Cezanne naturally thought that it was about him. Based on a novel of the same name, the film will take into account several aspects of their lives, from how they met and how they bonded over art, women and other aspects of their lives. There also was the time when they didn’t see eye to eye to each other for a certain period in time and the film will also dig into that. The film is told mostly through the effective device of voiceover narrations and flashbacks and also peeks into the lives of both the artists and their makings. Zola was a poor young lad who lost his father early and devoted himself to the craft of writing. Cezanne on the other hand was a rich guy and inherited a lot of family money but struggled as an artist in his early days.

Cezanne and I is an upcoming period drama film which is based on the friendship that bloomed between two artists in the 1800’s. The film is an account of their friendship through childhood, to the adulthood to the later time in their lives. The story is told mostly through flashbacks and focuses on two men as they witness different facets of their friendships over the decades. They both had different viewpoint about art, history and culture and yet they remained best of the friends. The story takes off when both of them meet after years to discuss Zola’s new novel, which he has supposedly based on Cezanne.
